Icom IC-7000 Repaired
Here is some info on a repair that I did to an Icom IC-7000..The symtoms were:
Lights up (comes on)
Has display
No TX or RX (though the green RX & red TX lights did work)
When keyed (put into transmit) the fan didn't run
The problem was diagnosed to be the Logic Unit, which is a plug in module ( a bit pricey, I might add)..
To replace the module, you remove the top cover, then the two screws holding the logic unit..Once the screws are removed, simply unplug the old module & install the new..
Once the module is replaced, reconnect power & you should have RX & TX..Also the fan will run when the radio is keyed..
I hope this has been of help..73s, Mel, WA5UTK
